Weight loss journey

Monday I started working toward my new weight loss goal. I want to lose 20 pounds in 8 weeks (Goal end date: 6.1.15).  In order to reach that goal on time I would have to lose 2.5 pounds a week. Nothing too crazy or unachievable. In fact to some people that might sound kind of slow, but if you want to lose weight the healthy way, it is recommended that you lose 1-2 pounds a week. (If you end up losing more that’s fine too)

Waiting 8 weeks to have a nicer body is nothing. No matter how you look at it time is going to pass you by. So you can either spend it wishing for a better body or you can spend it working towards your better body. I’m going to go with the latter.

The last time I went on a weight loss journey I lost 90 pounds. No that was not a typo. I really lost 90 pounds. When I tell people that they have a hard time believing me and when I show them my before picture they’re floored. I’ve had friends not recognize me, store clerks and bartenders that thought my I.D. was fake. I get it. It’s a pretty big difference. One that I’m very proud of. :) It wasn’t easy, but it was so worth it.

When I lost the 90 lbs I kept it off for 3+ years. Unfortunately for me I’ve gained 20 pounds in the last 6 months. To me that’s completely unacceptable. It’s my own fault of course, I was careless and preoccupied. That stops here.

The last time that I went on my weight loss journey I didn’t tell anyone. This time I have my blog and I’m excited to share with you guys what I’m doing to lose the weight and maintain it. I have people messaging me weekly asking me what I did to lose all that weight, how I kept it up and what advice I can give them. So this time around I’m taking you guys with me.

You’ll get to see my progress, I’ll share my tips and advice and I’ll let you guys know whats working for me. I will be posting weekly updates. So far this week I have lost 3 pounds. (Yayy me!) At the end of every week I’ll be taking a full body picture to document the difference.

      You can do it Kathryn! You’ll be glad you did. :)
      I exercised at least 4x a week for 1 hour. Drank only water, absolutely no soda or soft drinks (natural green tea also). I had three portion controlled meals, and my two snacks a day were fruits or some kind of nuts. I will be posting a longer more detailed explanation in an upcoming post.
